I currently deploying AIO OVA installation and need to know if is possible to login as root on LiveNX Linux Tiny core , I’m currently using “admin” account but I need privilege to change timezone, date and so on.
Thank you, Luigi, for using LiveAction community. Hopefully the below answer will help you to make better use of LiveNX to address your network monitoring use cases.
The admin account that you have on LiveNX is completely sufficient to access all functionalities of the software. The root account does not provide anything extra to the User that you cannot already achieve using the admin account.
To address your specific questions below:
(1) The default timezone is UTC that cannot be changed on the vAppliance. Timezone can be configured in the LiveNX application. For e.g. Site management using the web interface.
(2) Time can only be set by making sure the vAppliance is synced to a NTP clock source. It is mandatory to have the vAppliance synced with a NTP source. LiveNX application is dependent on a stable clock and has to be synced with NTP. NTP can be configured via the network settings in the vAppliance console.
Hope this helps. Looking forward to be of further assistance.
