How to add interface capacity information using the export/import devices
LiveAction does not automatically import the capacity information when you add a device, but you can easily get this information for all of your devices using the Import/Export device feature.
If you have any questions about this guide, or need any assistance in general please contact LiveAction support: email@example.com
Export your current LiveAction Configuration
First, let’s backup your current LiveAction configuration. Open up your LiveAction Server Management Console, go to Manage > Export Configurations.
Save the backup configuration file (.lfg) somewhere easily accessible.
Save your Master Layout
With the LiveAction Client open, let’s click on View > Save as Master Layout
Export your devices
On the LiveAction Client, go to File > Export Devices
On the bottom right of the Export Devices window, select Export to CSV
Select a location to save the CSV file
Now, click on Close to exit the Export Devices’ window
Edit the CSV File to Include the Capacity Information
Open the CSV file that you exported in the previous step, then copy the LINE RATE (KBPS) column and paste it into the CAPACITY (KBPS) column.
Rename the column back to CAPACITY (KBPS)
Remove Devices from LiveAction
It is necessary to remove the devices, so they can be re-added in to LiveAction with the capacity information. With the LiveAction Client open, select Manage or File > Manage Devices:
Perform a right click in the Select or Device columns, and choose Select all
Once all devices are selected, under Device Configurations, click Remove.
Another window will pop up to confirm, asking Are you sure you want to remove these devices? Select Yes.
Import Devices Back Into LiveAction
Within the LiveAction Client, select File > Import Devices
Select the modified Excel file
Select Add/Update Devices
Then click Ok
Click View and Sync to Master Layout
Verify the Capacity rates are now showing in LiveAction
