The LiveNX client runs on a standard Windows 64-bit based PC and Windows 7, 8, 32-bit Windows for webstart. LiveAction’s Mac client runs on OSX 10.9+ utilizing LiveAction client 3.14+ with similar memory and processor requirements as the Windows client requirements in the table below.
LiveAction is compatible with Cisco and a list of other vendors. Please reference LiveNX 5.2 Datasheet in order to obtain further information about what devices are compatible with which features on LiveNX.

LiveNX monitors information through SNMP and polls data from the MIBs stored on the device that are related to QoS, NetFlow, and other general information. The software supports SNMPv2c and SNMPv3. It also acts as a NetFlow collector for traffic flow analysis. See Chapter 6 for more information on NetFlow, sFlow and J-Flow operation.
For configuring the devices, LiveNX generates and sends Cisco IOS command line interface (CLI) commands directly to the device using either a Telnet or SSH connection. This requires Level 15 access. The software also works with TACACS and RADIUS authentication.
For monitoring, login access is also required for setting up the devices to read back the running configuration in order for the software to understand the policies and settings, and to properly display them on the screen.
